Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Penetration Tester / Ethical Hacker to join our dynamic team in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity for a cybersecurity professional with a passion for uncovering vulnerabilities and strengthening defenses. As a key member of our security assessment team, you will be responsible for conducting simulated cyberattacks to identify weaknesses in our clients’ systems, networks, and applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to staying ahead of emerging threats. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive network, web application, mobile, and cloud penetration tests.
- Identify, exploit, and document security vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
- Develop proof-of-concept exploits to demonstrate the impact of identified vulnerabilities.
- Provide clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for remediation.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for clients, explaining findings and risks.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, and best practices.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand security requirements and scope assessments.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of penetration testing methodologies and tools.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in penetration testing, ethical hacking, or a related cybersecurity role.
- Proficiency with various penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Nessus).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and web technologies.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Solid grasp of common web application vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with various attack vectors and exploitation techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., OSCP, CEH, GPEN, eJPT).
- Experience with cloud security assessments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
- Experience with red teaming or purple teaming exercises.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
