Job Description
Are you looking to gain practical, hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of commercial print production? Coastal Carolina Printworks is offering an exciting Industrial Print Production Internship for motivated individuals eager to learn the foundational aspects of industrial printing. This entry-level internship provides comprehensive training in press operations, finishing, quality control, and general production workflow. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real projects and developing skills essential for a career in the printing industry. No prior experience is required; we provide full training and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist press operators with machine setup, operation, and maintenance of various commercial presses (e.g., offset, digital, flexographic).
- Learn and perform tasks related to print finishing, including cutting, folding, binding, and packaging.
- Support quality control efforts by inspecting printed materials for defects and ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Help maintain a clean and organized production environment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Participate in inventory management and material handling as needed.
- Shadow experienced team members to understand the full production lifecycle from prepress to delivery.
- Complete assigned training modules and tasks with a positive, proactive attitude.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn how to operate machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn and adhere to them.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in a production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a vocational program or college degree in graphic communications, industrial technology, or a related field.
- Basic computer skills.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment (even non-print related) is a plus but not required.
