Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Medical Interns to join our team for an immersive internship program. This invaluable opportunity provides hands-on experience in a major hospital setting, working alongside experienced medical professionals. As an Intern, you will be exposed to diverse medical specialties, develop foundational clinical skills, and contribute to patient care under direct supervision. This role is designed for individuals early in their medical career, eager to learn and make a meaningful impact on our community’s health.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist medical staff with patient assessments, examinations, and history taking.
- Participate in ward rounds and observe various medical procedures.
- Help with documentation and maintenance of patient medical records.
- Support senior medical officers in managing patient care plans.
- Learn and apply basic clinical skills under supervision, such as venepuncture and cannulation.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a medical degree program.
- Strong academic record in medical studies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach.
- High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of core clinical rotations.
- Previous volunteer experience in a healthcare setting.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
