Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Qualified Chef to join our vibrant team at The Marigold Bistro. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional passionate about fine dining and creating exquisite dishes from the freshest seasonal produce. You will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, contributing to menu development, ensuring consistent quality, and maintaining our high standards. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, following recipes and specifications meticulously.
- Manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., Larder, Hot Line, Pastry) with efficiency and precision.
- Ensure all food preparation and presentation meets The Marigold Bistro's quality and aesthetic standards.
- Contribute to menu development and specials, offering creative input and culinary expertise.
- Monitor food stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimize waste.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP principles).
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation and assist with general kitchen cleaning duties.
- Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Qualified Chef in a fine dining or high-volume reputable restaurant.
- Solid understanding of classical and modern cooking techniques.
- Exceptional knife skills and precision in food preparation.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per the roster.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial Cookery Qualification (Certificate IV or Diploma).
- Experience with diverse culinary styles and international cuisines.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience in stock management and inventory control systems.
