Job Description

Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Endocrinologist to join our esteemed medical team. This role involves the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine diseases, managing conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal gland disorders, and other hormonal imbalances. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, conduct patient consultations, develop treatment plans, and contribute to the overall quality of patient services within our modern hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a broad range of endocrine disorders, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and metabolic bone diseases.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, assessments, and examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as hormone level assays, imaging studies, and biopsies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and patient education.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including dieticians, specialist nurses, and other consultants, to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in clinical audits, service development, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients and their families regarding their condition and treatment options.

Required Skills

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) UK.
  • CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus, or equivalent specialist qualification.
  • Significant post-CCT experience as a Consultant Endocrinologist.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex endocrine conditions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) or equivalent.
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring junior medical staff.
  • Participation in clinical research or publications in endocrinology.
  • Experience with private healthcare provision.
