Job Description

Join Toll Group as a Customs Entry Clerk and play a vital role in facilitating the smooth movement of international freight. This position involves preparing and lodging customs entries for imported and exported goods, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs laws and regulations. You will work closely with clients, carriers, and customs authorities, contributing to the efficient operation of our global supply chain. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and lodge customs entries for import and export shipments.
  • Ensure accurate classification of goods, valuation, and application of duties/taxes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, freight forwarders, and customs officials regarding documentation and clearance status.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
  • Resolve customs-related queries and discrepancies promptly.
  • Verify and process shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
  • Utilize customs software systems for efficient data entry and processing.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of international trade and logistics principles (or willingness to learn rapidly).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customs, freight forwarding, or logistics administration role.
  • Knowledge of Australian Customs regulations and ICS (Integrated Cargo System).
  • Tertiary qualification in International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with customs brokerage software.
