Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as an Afternoon Deli Hand for casual day shifts at our Newman store. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for flexible work hours in a dynamic retail environment. You will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of fresh deli products, ensuring our displays are appealing, and maintaining a high standard of hygiene. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary – just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, slice, and package a range of fresh deli products including meats, cheeses, and salads.
- Serve customers with a friendly and efficient manner, providing product information and recommendations.
- Maintain immaculate presentation of deli displays, ensuring stock rotation and freshness.
- Operate deli equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., slicers, scales).
- Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist with stock management, including receiving, rotating, and replenishing products.
- Process customer transactions accurately and handle cash/card payments.
- Clean and sanitize deli areas, equipment, and utensils regularly.
Required Skills
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to working casual shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (e.g., product boxes).
