Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and aspiring Compositing & Nuke VFX Intern to join our dynamic team in Pasadena, CA. This internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional VFX environment. You will work alongside experienced artists and technicians, learning the intricate art of compositing using industry-standard software like Nuke. This role is designed for individuals eager to kickstart their career in visual effects, providing comprehensive training and mentorship. You will contribute to real-world projects, developing your skills and understanding of the VFX pipeline from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior compositors with various tasks, including rotoscoping, keying, paint-outs, and element integration.
- Learn and apply fundamental compositing principles under the guidance of experienced artists.
- Organize and manage visual assets, ensuring proper file naming and version control.
- Participate in daily reviews and feedback sessions, actively contributing to discussions.
- Perform quality control checks on rendered elements and final composites.
- Research and test new tools or techniques to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Maintain a clear understanding of project deadlines and deliverables.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, including lighting, animation, and matte painting.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of compositing principles and workflows.
- Familiarity with Nuke software, even if self-taught or academic.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new software and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a film, animation, VFX, or related program.
