Job Description

Southern Cross Care Tasmania is seeking compassionate and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Entry-Level Home Care Support Workers. No prior experience is required! We provide comprehensive paid training to equip you with all the skills and knowledge you need to succeed. Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful and person-centred personal care, including showering, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light household tasks, and shopping.
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and exercise programs as per care plans.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote well-being.
- Administer medication under supervision and according to training and guidelines.
- Document care provided accurately and communicate any changes in client condition to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Travel between client homes within the designated service area.
Required Skills
- A genuine desire to help and care for others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and commit to ongoing training.
- Current Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to pass a National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care or Disability) or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience (voluntary or paid) in a client-facing role.
