Job Description

Southern Cross Care Tasmania is seeking compassionate and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Entry-Level Home Care Support Workers. No prior experience is required! We provide comprehensive paid training to equip you with all the skills and knowledge you need to succeed. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful and person-centred personal care, including showering, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light household tasks, and shopping.
  • Support clients with mobility, transfers, and exercise programs as per care plans.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote well-being.
  • Administer medication under supervision and according to training and guidelines.
  • Document care provided accurately and communicate any changes in client condition to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Travel between client homes within the designated service area.

Required Skills

  • A genuine desire to help and care for others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and commit to ongoing training.
  • Current Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care or Disability) or willingness to obtain.
  • Previous experience (voluntary or paid) in a client-facing role.
