Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and physically capable Turf Farm Hand to join our dynamic team in Port Pirie. This active role involves a variety of outdoor tasks essential to the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of premium turf. If you enjoy working outdoors, have a strong work ethic, and are looking for ongoing shifts with a reputable local company, we encourage you to apply. Full training will be provided for specific turf farming techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery (tractors, mowers, forklifts)
- Irrigation system management and basic repairs
- Fertilising, spraying, and pest control applications
- General farm maintenance, including fencing, grounds keeping, and shed tidiness
- Harvesting and loading turf for delivery
- Assisting with turf laying and site preparation as required
- Adhering to all WHS policies and procedures
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices or willingness to learn
- Valid Australian Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating farm machinery (e.g., tractors, forklifts)
- Chemical accreditation (ACDC licence)
- First Aid Certificate
- Previous experience in horticulture, landscaping, or agriculture
