Job Description
Join the Fry’s Food and Drug team in Goodyear as an End of Day Sanitization Butcher Shop Floor Mopper. This critical role ensures our butcher department maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene after daily operations conclude. You will be responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitization of the butcher shop floor and immediate work areas, contributing significantly to a safe and pleasant shopping experience for our customers and a healthy work environment for our staff. This is a vital closing shift position, requiring attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a pristine facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough mopping, scrubbing, and sanitization of the butcher shop floor at the end of each shift.
- Clean and sanitize immediate work areas, including drains, floor mats, and equipment exteriors.
- Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment according to safety data sheets (SDS) and company guidelines.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively before store closing.
- Report any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and food safety/sanitation standards.
- Assist with other general cleaning duties as needed to support overall store cleanliness.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Basic understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift cleaning equipment (up to 25 lbs).
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or similar role, particularly in a retail, grocery, or food service environment.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and chemical handling.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
