Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Wind Turbine Technicians. This opportunity is open to both Trainees with a strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn, as well as Skilled Technicians with proven experience in the wind energy sector. As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will play a crucial role in the operation, maintenance, and repair of our wind turbine assets. For Trainees, comprehensive training will be provided, equipping you with the necessary skills and certifications to excel in this field. Skilled Technicians will leverage their expertise to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our wind farms.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations at all times.
- Complete accurate documentation of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency repairs and support.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.
- For Trainees: Actively participate in all training modules, shadowing experienced technicians, and obtaining necessary certifications.
Required Skills
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
- For Trainees: A strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and a genuine interest in renewable energy.
- For Skilled: Proven experience with wind turbine systems (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification (e.g., Certificate III or IV in Electrotechnology, Engineering – Mechanical, or similar).
- Global Wind Organisation (GWO) certified training (Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Sea Survival).
- Experience with various SCADA systems and turbine control software.
- Prior experience in heavy industry, aviation, or maritime sectors.
