Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and safety-conscious Traffic Controllers to join our dynamic team in Mildura. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for casual day shifts with excellent weekend pay rates. As a Traffic Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians around construction sites and roadwork areas. You will be responsible for setting up and managing traffic control equipment, directing traffic flow, and communicating effectively to maintain a safe and orderly environment. Full training and support will be provided for those new to the role, provided you hold the necessary certifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work sites.
  • Implement and maintain traffic management plans according to site requirements.
  • Set up and pack down traffic control signs, barriers, and devices.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers, the public, and site managers.
  • Adhere strictly to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor traffic flow and adjust controls as necessary to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Report any incidents or hazards immediately to site supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Valid Australian Driver's License (essential for site access and equipment handling)
  • White Card (Construction Induction training)
  • Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) certification
  • Traffic Controller (TC) certification
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Reliability and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physical fitness to perform duties in various weather conditions and standing for long periods
  • Flexibility to work casual day shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a traffic control or construction environment
  • First Aid certification
  • HR/MR Truck License (desirable for specific projects)
