Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Warehouse Manager to lead our Port Adelaide logistics facility. This high-impact role is crucial for optimising warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, and fostering a high-performance team environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound activities, maintaining safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and service quality. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position for a proven leader in logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse staff, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Manage inventory control systems, conduct regular audits, and minimise discrepancies.
  • Optimise warehouse layout and workflow to maximise efficiency and space utilisation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including transport and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage equipment maintenance and ensure operational readiness.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, controlling costs while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements using lean principles or other methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse management within a logistics or distribution environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimise processes and drive operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with automated warehouse technologies.
  • Current forklift license.
