Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic team in Parramatta. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality, evidence-based speech pathology services to children and young people under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). You will work with a diverse caseload, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for communication and swallowing difficulties, empowering children to achieve their full potential. With a commitment to flexible work, this position offers a blend of on-site clinic work, community outreach, and telehealth services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties in children aged 0-18 years.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans in collaboration with children, families, and other key stakeholders, aligned with NDIS goals.
- Provide therapy through various modalities, including direct intervention, group programs, parent coaching, and telehealth.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, progress notes, and NDIS review documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and external agencies to ensure holistic client support.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice in paediatric speech pathology and NDIS guidelines.
- Participate in clinical supervision, professional development, and team meetings.
Required Skills
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Speech Pathology from a recognised university.
- Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and eligibility for Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status.
- Proven experience working with paediatric clients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Understanding and practical experience with the NDIS framework and funding processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specific paediatric intervention approaches (e.g., Hanen, PROMPT, PECS, LAMP Words for Life).
- Post-graduate training or specialisation in a relevant paediatric area.
- Experience with telehealth service delivery.
