Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Anesthesiologist to join our dynamic surgical team at Prairie Regional Health Systems in Lloydminster. Key Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia and sedation for surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
- Monitor patients during and after surgical procedures, managing pain and post-operative care.
- Conduct pre-operative patient assessments, evaluate medical history, and determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Manage and respond to emergencies, including resuscitation and airway management.
- Participate in on-call rotations as required.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records of all anesthesia-related procedures.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Current medical license and eligibility for licensure in Alberta/Saskatchewan (e.g., College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta or Saskatchewan).
- Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology, or equivalent international qualification.
- Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of anesthetic techniques and patient management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty area of Anesthesiology (e.g., cardiac, pediatric, regional).
- Experience working in a regional or rural healthcare setting.
