Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Municipal Licensing Clerk to join our team. This full-time position operates during standard office hours, offering a stable work environment and comprehensive benefits. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Licensing Department, assisting residents and businesses with licensing applications, renewals, and inquiries. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Full training will be provided to ensure success in this critical role.
Key Responsibilities
- Process various municipal license applications and renewals accurately and efficiently.
- Provide clear and concise information to the public regarding licensing requirements, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain and update licensing records and databases with high accuracy.
- Collect and reconcile application fees, ensuring proper financial documentation.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents as required.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing departmental inquiries.
- Collaborate with other city departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Ensure all licensing activities comply with city ordinances and state laws.
- Organize and maintain both physical and digital filing systems.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role
- Familiarity with municipal government operations or licensing processes
