Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Commercial Horticulturist to join our growing team in Tamworth, NSW. This role involves the professional maintenance and enhancement of commercial landscapes, ensuring high standards of horticultural excellence and client satisfaction. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, from routine garden care to pest and disease management, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and health of various commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of commercial landscape maintenance, including planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and irrigation management.
- Identify and diagnose plant health issues, pests, and diseases, implementing appropriate treatment plans.
- Operate and maintain horticultural equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manage and monitor irrigation systems, adjusting as necessary to optimize water usage and plant health.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and observations.
- Adhere to all WHS policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations for landscape improvements to clients and management.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve project goals.
Required Skills
- Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial horticulture or landscape maintenance.
- Proven knowledge of plant identification, pest and disease management, and horticultural best practices.
- Ability to operate a range of horticultural machinery and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Current Australian driver's license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chemical Users Certificate (ACUP).
- Chainsaw operation certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with large-scale commercial properties or public spaces.
