Job Description
Are you a passionate music lover with an ear for great tunes and a desire to share your enthusiasm with others? Maritime Grooves Records is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Part-Time Vinyl Record Shop Assistant to join our team in St. Stephen. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who loves music, enjoys connecting with people, and is eager to learn the ins and outs of a vibrant record store. No prior experience in retail is necessary; we’re looking for individuals with a genuine love for music, a positive attitude, and a willingness to provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with their inquiries and purchases, providing recommendations based on their musical tastes.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system and handle cash and credit card payments.
- Organize and re-stock vinyl records, CDs, and other merchandise on the sales floor.
- Maintain a clean and inviting store environment, including dusting, tidying, and light cleaning tasks.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving new shipments and pricing items.
- Help create appealing displays to showcase new arrivals and featured collections.
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer emails professionally.
- Support in promoting store events, new releases, and special offers to customers.
Required Skills
- Genuine passion for music, particularly vinyl records across various genres.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Basic computer literacy (for POS system training).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with different music genres and artists.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems (not required, but a plus).
- Knowledge of record care and audio equipment.
