Job Description
Are you passionate about data, logistics, and eager to learn the fundamentals of supply chain planning? BHP is offering an exciting Supply Planner Intern position with a focus on Demand Forecasting. This entry-level internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within a global resources company, working closely with experienced professionals. You will support our supply chain team in analysing data, developing forecasts, and contributing to the efficient flow of materials and products. Full training and mentorship will be provided, ensuring you build a strong foundation in supply chain management and demand planning methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analysing historical demand data.
- Support the development of demand forecasts using various analytical tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with the supply planning team to understand key drivers impacting demand.
- Help prepare reports and presentations on forecasting accuracy and performance.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to gather insights for demand planning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain department.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the planning team as needed.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant undergraduate degree program (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Science).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of supply chain principles or statistics.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with any ERP system (e.g., SAP) is a plus but not required.
