Job Description
Are you ready to embark on a challenging and rewarding career at sea? Tata Power is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals for the role of Offshore Wind Farm Deckhand (Trainee) to join our growing offshore operations in Mumbai. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals with no prior experience to enter the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. You will be an integral part of our vessel crew, supporting the construction, operation, and maintenance of our state-of-the-art offshore wind farms. This role involves shift work in a dynamic maritime environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general vessel operations, including mooring, anchoring, and cargo handling.
- Participate in routine maintenance of vessel equipment and deck machinery.
- Support offshore transfer operations for personnel and equipment to and from wind turbines.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental protocols and procedures.
- Participate in emergency drills and maintain readiness for emergency response.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vessel's deck and common areas.
- Assist senior crew members with various tasks as directed, demonstrating a willingness to learn.
- Undergo comprehensive training to develop competence in all aspects of offshore wind farm support operations.
Required Skills
- No prior maritime or offshore experience required – full training provided.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a demanding offshore environment.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for extended periods at sea.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to strict operational guidelines.
- Basic communication skills in English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any prior experience in a physical labor role or outdoor work is a plus, but not mandatory.
