Job Description

Canadian Tire Corporation is seeking an experienced and visionary E-commerce Director to lead our digital commerce strategy and operations for a key division based in Thunder Bay, ON. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive e-commerce strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing e-commerce team.
  • Oversee all aspects of the e-commerce platform, including product merchandising, content management, promotions, and customer service integration.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
  • Drive conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives through A/B testing, UX/UI improvements, and data analysis.
  • Manage the e-commerce budget, forecast sales, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with marketing, IT, supply chain, and retail operations teams to ensure seamless customer journeys.
  • Implement and optimize digital marketing campaigns (SEO, SEM, social media, email) to drive traffic and sales.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security best practices.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in e-commerce, with at least 3 years in a leadership/director role within a retail environment.
  • Proven track record of significantly growing online sales and market share.
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce platforms, technologies, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and A/B testing platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, E-commerce, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise e-commerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce/Magento, Shopify Plus).
  • Experience working in the Canadian retail market.
  • Certification in digital marketing or e-commerce specific areas.
