Job Description

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Filing & Post Room Clerk to join our Halifax team. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone with no prior experience, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of information and documents within our office, contributing directly to our operational efficiency and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, open, and distribute incoming mail and packages to the appropriate departments and individuals.
- Process outgoing mail, including packaging, labeling, and coordinating with couriers.
- Maintain and organize physical and digital filing systems, ensuring accuracy and easy retrieval of documents.
- Perform regular audits of filing systems to ensure compliance with company policies and retention schedules.
- Assist with scanning, archiving, and indexing various documents.
- Manage office supplies for the post room and filing areas, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Operate office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners, and mail machines.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and data security protocols at all times.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., email, word processing).
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and move boxes (up to 25 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
