Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Private Equity & Venture Capital Intern to join our dynamic team in Astoria, NY. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of deal sourcing within the private equity and venture capital space. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent research skills, and a genuine interest in market trends, emerging technologies, and investment opportunities. You will play a crucial role in identifying potential investment targets and contributing to the initial stages of our investment process, working closely with experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify attractive industries, sectors, and investment themes.
- Perform extensive company research and analysis to identify potential acquisition or investment targets aligned with our strategic criteria.
- Utilize various databases, news sources, and proprietary tools for deal sourcing and pipeline generation.
- Develop and maintain a robust database of potential investment targets and key industry contacts.
- Assist in the preparation of initial investment memos, presentations, and other internal documents.
- Support the team in initial outreach to prospective companies and management teams.
- Track industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments relevant to our investment focus.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in private equity, venture capital, or investment banking through coursework, projects, or relevant extracurricular activities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in financial research tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, PitchBook) or willingness to learn quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and valuation concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience or coursework specifically related to deal sourcing, market analysis, or investment research.
- Previous internship experience in finance, consulting, or a related field.
- Familiarity with CRM systems for pipeline management.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to global markets.
