Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Winery Tasting Room Pourers for weekend shifts. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone eager to learn about wine in a fun and dynamic environment. As a Tasting Room Pourer, you will be the face of Riverbend Vineyards, guiding guests through our wine selections, sharing our story, and ensuring every visitor has a memorable and delightful experience. Full training on our wines, tasting techniques, and sales processes will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly to the tasting room and provide an engaging and educational wine tasting experience.
- Educate guests about Riverbend Vineyards' history, winemaking process, and individual wine characteristics.
- Pour wine samples accurately and explain each wine's profile.
- Handle sales of wine, merchandise, and club memberships using our POS system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting tasting room environment.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including restocking and tidying.
- Process transactions accurately and manage cash and credit card payments.
- Answer guest questions and provide recommendations for local attractions and dining.
- Assist with special events and private tastings as needed.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication abilities, both verbal and active listening.
- Enthusiasm for learning about wine and sharing that knowledge.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual for all scheduled weekend shifts.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy for POS system operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or customer service.
- Some basic knowledge of wine or a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
