Job Description
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Remote Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home. You will be instrumental in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, developer guides, API documentation, and online help content for our diverse range of products and services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for simplifying complex information, a strong grasp of technical concepts, and exceptional writing skills. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and support teams to ensure accuracy and usability of all documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for internal and external audiences.
- Translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable language for various user types.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to gather information and ensure accuracy.
- Develop and maintain a consistent tone, style, and voice across all documentation.
- Manage documentation projects from inception through delivery, ensuring timely completion.
- Conduct thorough reviews of technical content for clarity, grammar, spelling, and adherence to company standards.
- Contribute to the improvement of documentation processes and tools.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing or a related field.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
- Experience with various documentation tools and content management systems (CMS).
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and API documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English with an exceptional command of grammar and style.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with Markdown, HTML, CSS, or other markup languages.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Previous experience working in an e-commerce or SaaS environment.
- Portfolio demonstrating technical writing samples.
