Job Description

The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our culinary team as Kitchen Porters. This is an immediate start position, and absolutely no prior experience is necessary! We believe in nurturing talent and will provide full, comprehensive training to ensure your success. If you have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and are ready to learn and contribute to a bustling kitchen, we want to hear from you. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our kitchens, supporting our chefs and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sterilize dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using dishwashers and by hand.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and food storage zones.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean and stored properly.
- Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with club procedures.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with the unloading and storage of deliveries.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Support the culinary team with any ad-hoc tasks as required.
