Job Description
We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as a Loading Bay Operative for our immediate start night shift. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment. As a Loading Bay Operative, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of goods within our distribution center, ensuring that inbound and outbound shipments are handled with precision. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role, making this an excellent entry point into the logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely loading and unloading goods from vehicles, trailers, and containers using appropriate equipment.
- Verifying accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests and packing lists.
- Operating manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) in a safe manner.
- Sorting, staging, and stacking products in designated areas.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the loading bay.
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors to meet operational goals.
- Reporting any damaged goods or discrepancies immediately.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and following instructions.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels and count inventory.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for night shift schedules.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the US and ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating similar material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
