Job Description
Are you passionate about Halloween, love to perform, and enjoy making people scream (with delight, of course)? Grouse Mountain Resort is seeking energetic and creative individuals to become Haunted House Scare Actors for our inaugural ‘Pemberton Frights’ event. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of fright, bringing various spooky characters to life and creating a memorable experience for all visitors. No prior scare acting experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive training to help you master the art of fright and ensure a safe, thrilling environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Portray assigned haunted characters with conviction, enthusiasm, and consistent performance throughout shifts.
- Execute planned scares, vocalizations, and physical interactions effectively and safely.
- Adhere strictly to costume, makeup, and prop guidelines.
- Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures for both cast and guests.
- Work collaboratively with other scare actors and the production team to enhance the overall experience.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, even when out of character during breaks or guest interactions.
- Actively participate in all mandatory training sessions and rehearsals.
Required Skills
- Enthusiasm for Halloween, horror, and immersive entertainment.
- Ability to take direction and adapt quickly to feedback.
- Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled evening shifts.
- Strong vocal projection and physical presence.
- Ability to work effectively in a dark, potentially noisy, and fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with wearing costumes and makeup.
- No prior acting or scare experience required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in theater, acting, improv, or performance art.
- Interest in makeup artistry or costume design.
- Experience working in customer service or guest-facing roles.
- Basic first aid certification is a plus.
