Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist cooks in the preparation of meals, snacks, and beverages according to dietary guidelines and recipes.
  • Set up dining areas and trays for residents, ensuring proper portion control and presentation.
  • Serve meals to residents with care and attention, accommodating individual needs and preferences.
  • Clear tables and wash dishes, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment.
  • Monitor food temperatures and ensure safe food handling practices at all times.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Interact positively with residents, their families, and staff, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and health regulations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles (training provided).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a food service environment, particularly in healthcare or senior living.
  • Current Food Handler's Permit (or willingness to obtain).
