Job Description
Join the dedicated back-of-house team at Cineplex as a Popcorn Machine Cleaner. This essential role ensures our popcorn machines are meticulously cleaned, sanitized, and maintained to the highest hygiene standards, contributing directly to a superior guest experience. You will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling machine components, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area. This is an entry-level position, and full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough daily cleaning and sanitization of all popcorn machines and associated equipment.
- Disassemble machine components, clean them according to established guidelines, and reassemble them correctly.
- Empty and clean oil traps and waste bins associated with popcorn production.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the back-of-house popcorn preparation area.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to management.
- Assist with other general cleaning duties in the back-of-house area as required.
- Document cleaning activities and machine maintenance logs.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and safety principles.
- Willingness to learn and follow detailed cleaning procedures.
- No prior experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning or food service environment.
- Familiarity with cinema operations or back-of-house procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
