Job Description
Landstar System is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Federal Emergency Supply Coordinator to join our disaster logistics team in Lakeland, FL. This vital role involves managing and coordinating the efficient flow of critical supplies and resources during federal emergency and disaster response operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that necessary goods reach affected areas swiftly and effectively, supporting various government agencies and humanitarian efforts. This position requires meticulous planning, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the procurement, storage, and distribution of emergency supplies in alignment with federal guidelines and disaster response plans.
- Liaise with federal agencies (e.g., FEMA, DoD, HHS) to understand supply needs, priorities, and logistical requirements during emergencies.
- Manage inventory levels of emergency supplies, conducting regular audits and ensuring readiness for rapid deployment.
- Develop and maintain supply chain protocols and standard operating procedures for disaster logistics.
- Monitor and track shipments of emergency aid, providing real-time updates and resolving any logistical challenges.
- Collaborate with transportation providers, warehouse managers, and on-site teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Prepare detailed reports on supply chain performance, resource utilization, and operational effectiveness.
- Participate in pre-disaster planning, drills, and post-disaster reviews to continuously improve response strategies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or emergency management.
- Strong understanding of federal procurement processes and compliance standards.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing situations during emergencies.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed during disaster response.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Emergency Management, or a related field.
- Experience working with federal government contracts or agencies (e.g., FEMA, DoD).
- Certifications in logistics, project management, or emergency preparedness.
