Job Description
As a Commercial Landscaping Crew Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of landscaping projects for our diverse commercial clients. You will lead a small team, overseeing daily operations, maintaining high standards of quality, and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on position requiring extensive outdoor work in various weather conditions, and we are looking for someone ready to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small landscaping crew on various commercial properties.
- Operate and maintain a range of landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and edgers.
- Perform general landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, and mulching.
- Ensure all work is completed to BrightView's quality standards and client specifications.
- Train and mentor crew members, promoting safe work practices and skill development.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members.
- Manage time and resources efficiently to complete projects on schedule.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial landscaping, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in operating various landscaping equipment (e.g., commercial mowers, string trimmers, edgers, blowers).
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques, plant identification, and basic horticulture.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans or work orders.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform strenuous physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience with irrigation systems maintenance.
- Pesticide applicator's license (or willingness to obtain).
