Job Description
Join Discount Tire as a Mobile Tire Fitting Technician, a critical role focused on delivering exceptional tire services directly to our customers at their homes or workplaces. You will be operating a company-provided service van, equipped with all necessary tools, to perform tire installations, repairs, rotations, and balancing. This role requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, safety, and efficiency. As part of an on-call roster, you will be a vital part of our emergency response team, providing reliable service when and where it’s needed most. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company-provided service van to travel to customer locations for tire service needs.
- Perform professional and safe tire installations, rotations, repairs, and balancing.
- Inspect tires and wheels for damage, wear, and proper inflation, providing expert recommendations to customers.
- Ensure the service van is properly maintained, stocked with necessary equipment, and kept clean.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company procedures during service calls.
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service, explaining services performed and addressing concerns.
- Manage and maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with dispatch.
- Participate in an on-call roster to respond to emergency tire service requests.
- Handle payment processing and associated paperwork accurately.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to lift heavy tires (up to 75 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and participate in an on-call roster.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in tire service or automotive repair.
- Familiarity with various tire types, sizes, and vehicle makes/models.
- Experience operating service vehicles or vans.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
