Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Supply Chain Director to lead and optimize Next plc’s end-to-end supply chain operations based in Bath. This critical leadership role will be responsible for strategy, planning, execution, and continuous improvement across our global supply network, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness to market demands. The successful candidate will drive innovation, build robust supplier relationships, and foster a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with key suppliers and logistics partners to ensure optimal terms and performance.
- Implement and leverage advanced supply chain technologies and analytics to optimize processes and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and ethical practices.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics for the supply chain function.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, environmental, and economic factors.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years experience in senior supply chain leadership roles within a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies.
- Strong understanding of global logistics, procurement, and inventory management best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with sustainable and ethical supply chain practices.
- Familiarity with e-commerce logistics and omnichannel retail.
