Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our dynamic team in St Helens. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights, helping various departments make informed strategic decisions. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand their data needs, develop robust reporting solutions, and ensure data integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing clear, concise, and actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across various platforms.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of our data warehouse and data governance frameworks.
- Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports, fostering a data-driven culture.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in business intelligence and data analytics.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Expertise in at least one major BI visualization tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.
- Experience in the retail industry.
- Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
