Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Public Sector Procurement Driver for light van delivery operations. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of procured goods and supplies to various public sector facilities, including government offices, schools, and other public institutions throughout the Mobile area. This position requires careful handling of diverse items, adherence to delivery schedules, and maintaining accurate delivery records. You will operate light vans, ensuring all vehicles are kept in good condition and all safety regulations are followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate light vans for the delivery of procured goods to public sector clients.
- Verify load contents against manifest and delivery instructions before departure.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Navigate routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and timelines.
- Obtain necessary signatures and complete delivery documentation accurately.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Represent Gulf Coast Logistics Solutions professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read maps and use GPS navigation systems.
- Familiarity with local Mobile area routes and traffic patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial driving or delivery services.
- Experience with public sector or government contract deliveries.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
