Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Teleworking Public Transit Coordinator to join our team. This fully remote position is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of various transit-related initiatives, potentially including internal shuttle services, employee commute programs, or community outreach efforts connected to local transportation networks. The successful candidate will manage schedules, coordinate resources, communicate with stakeholders, and contribute to optimizing transportation solutions from a home office environment. All necessary equipment will be provided to facilitate your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operational aspects of designated public transit or transportation programs.
- Manage scheduling for routes, vehicles, and personnel (if applicable) using provided software.
- Act as a primary point of contact for inquiries, issues, and feedback related to transit services.
- Monitor performance metrics and generate reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new transit initiatives or service enhancements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transit operations.
- Utilize provided communication tools to engage with team members and stakeholders effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and operational standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a coordination, administrative, or logistics role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience with transportation management systems or scheduling software.
- Understanding of public transit operations or community transportation programs.
