Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Materials Handling & Logistics Intern to join our Peace River Distribution Center team. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced logistics environment. You will support various aspects of our distribution operations, from receiving and inventory management to order fulfillment and shipping. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in supply chain, logistics, or operations, providing foundational knowledge and practical skills with comprehensive training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the receiving, inspection, and storage of incoming merchandise.
- Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Learn and assist in order picking, packing, and staging for outbound shipments.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) under supervision and after proper training.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
- Assist with data entry and record-keeping related to inventory and shipments.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational goals.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and training sessions.
Required Skills

- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Physical ability to lift and move packages as required (up to 50 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution setting (volunteer or paid) is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of basic inventory management principles.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
