Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dietitian / Clinical Nutritionist to join our multidisciplinary team in Edmonton, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity for an internationally trained professional, as we are offering sponsorship for eligible candidates. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert nutritional assessment, counseling, and education to a diverse patient population. You will work collaboratively with other health professionals to develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans that promote optimal health outcomes and disease management. Your role will involve supporting patients through various stages of recovery and health maintenance, ensuring evidence-based practices are applied.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for a diverse patient population, including dietary intake, lifestyle, medical history, and anthropometric data.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans based on patient needs, goals, and evidence-based practice.
- Provide one-on-one and group nutrition counseling and education on a wide range of topics, including chronic disease management, weight management, sports nutrition, and preventative health.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Stay current with the latest research and developments in nutrition science and dietetics.
- Participate in professional development activities and contribute to a learning culture within the team.
- Adhere to all provincial and federal regulations, and ethical guidelines governing dietetic practice.
- Support the sponsorship process for eligible international candidates, working with HR and regulatory bodies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA) or willingness to complete the registration process with sponsorship support.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Dietitian or Clinical Nutritionist.
- Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based nutrition counseling and education.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
- Willingness to undertake the necessary steps for professional registration and immigration sponsorship in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Experience in specialized areas such as diabetes management, cardiovascular health, or gastrointestinal disorders.
- Familiarity with the Canadian healthcare system and provincial regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to Edmonton's diverse population.
