Job Description

Savannah Montessori School is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Montessori & Alternative Education Intern to join our team. This entry-level internship is perfect for individuals looking to explore a career in education, particularly within the Montessori framework. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, working alongside experienced educators to support classroom activities, assist with curriculum implementation, and contribute to a child-centered learning environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn the principles of Montessori education firsthand and to explore various alternative teaching methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Support the implementation of Montessori curriculum and learning materials.
- Observe and participate in guiding children's independent work and group activities.
- Help maintain a prepared, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Assist with student supervision during lessons, playtimes, and transitions.
- Learn and apply positive discipline techniques consistent with Montessori philosophy.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Support administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth school operations.
