Job Description
We are seeking motivated and physically capable individuals to join our team as Port Stevedores / Cargo Handlers. This is an immediate start, high-demand position responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and securing of various types of cargo at our intermodal facility. You will be an essential part of our operations, ensuring that freight is moved promptly and securely. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload cargo from trucks, railcars, and other conveyances using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Operate various material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other specialized machinery (training provided).
- Inspect cargo for damage and accurately record discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Perform general labor duties as required to support cargo handling operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
