Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Public Sector Procurement Driver for light van delivery services in Gaithersburg, MD. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of various procurement items to government offices, facilities, and other public sector clients. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict delivery schedules, and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients. You will operate a light van, ensuring all deliveries are documented accurately and handled with care, contributing directly to the operational efficiency of public services.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a light van for daily delivery routes within Gaithersburg and surrounding areas.
- Load, unload, and organize procurement items, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Verify delivery manifests against items received and delivered, obtaining necessary signatures.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and client specific delivery protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
- Provide professional and courteous service to all public sector clients.
- Manage delivery documentation, including electronic logs and paper manifests.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed between deliveries.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving or delivery experience.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
