Job Description
Join the passionate team at Kaw Valley Vineyard & Winery as a Tasting Room Pourer! This is an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to learn about wine and hospitality in a beautiful vineyard setting. We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable team members for weekend shifts to welcome guests, guide them through our wine selections, and ensure a delightful and informative tasting experience. If you have a friendly demeanor, a willingness to learn, and a passion for customer service, we encourage you to apply – no prior wine expertise is required!
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome all guests to the tasting room with warmth and enthusiasm.
- Conduct guided wine tastings, educating guests about our wines, their characteristics, and our winemaking process.
- Handle point-of-sale transactions accurately, including wine sales, merchandise, and club memberships.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting tasting room environment.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including restocking wine and merchandise.
- Promote wine club memberships and special events to guests.
- Handle cash and process credit card transactions responsibly.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal alcohol serving regulations.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled weekend shifts.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Eagerness to learn about wine and our vineyard operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or a customer-facing role.
- Basic knowledge of wine or a strong interest in learning.
- Experience with POS systems.
