Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) Communications Intern to join our innovative team in Courtenay, BC. This is an exceptional opportunity for a student eager to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge automotive communication technologies. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to research, development, and testing activities related to V2X communication systems. You will learn about various V2X technologies, including DSRC and C-V2X, and their applications in enhancing road safety, traffic efficiency, and autonomous driving. This entry-level role is designed for learning and development, providing a strong foundation for a career in smart mobility and telecommunications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research and analysis of V2X communication protocols and standards.
- Support the team in setting up and conducting tests for V2X applications and hardware.
- Collect and analyze data from V2X testbeds and simulations.
- Help with the documentation of project progress, test results, and technical specifications.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for V2X solution development.
- Learn and utilize specialized software tools for V2X simulation and analysis.
- Provide general support to the V2X engineering team as needed.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of wireless communication principles and networking concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed coursework in digital communication, wireless networks, or signal processing.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB.
- Basic knowledge of automotive communication buses (CAN, Ethernet) is a plus.
- Previous experience with IoT devices or embedded systems (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Arduino).
