Job Description
Join the dedicated groundskeeping team at Fogo Island Inn as a Seasonal Tennis Court Maintenance Worker. This position is vital to ensuring our outdoor tennis facilities are in pristine condition for the enjoyment of our guests. You will be responsible for the daily upkeep and presentation of the tennis courts and their immediate surroundings, contributing to the overall beauty and high standards of our property. This is a physical, outdoor role perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining beautiful spaces. Comprehensive training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn and contribute.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of tennis courts for cleanliness, damage, and overall condition.
- Sweep, blow, and wash court surfaces to remove debris, leaves, and dirt.
- Ensure all court lines are clearly visible and well-maintained.
- Adjust and maintain tennis nets to ensure proper tension and height.
- Monitor and report any damage or repair needs for courts, nets, or surrounding fencing and equipment.
- Maintain the immediate perimeter of the courts, including weeding, raking, and general tidying of landscaping.
- Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of groundskeeping tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company standards for groundskeeping operations.
- Collaborate effectively with other groundskeeping and facilities staff members as part of a cohesive team.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
- No prior experience in tennis court maintenance is required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with general groundskeeping or outdoor labor.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) for potential operation of light equipment.
- Basic understanding of landscaping tools and techniques.
