Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our dynamic team in Eugene, OR. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to major infrastructure and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to lift, move, and position materials and equipment on construction sites safely and efficiently. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates looking to move to the vibrant Eugene area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate hydraulic, lattice boom, or tower cranes to lift and move materials, equipment, or products.
  • Perform daily pre-operation inspections of crane equipment and report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Read and interpret load charts and understand load capacities to prevent overloading.
  • Communicate effectively with ground crews and signal persons using hand signals, radio, or verbal commands.
  • Ensure proper rigging and securement of loads according to safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around the crane.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs of crane equipment as needed.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

Required Skills

  • Current NCCCO certification or equivalent national crane operator certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience operating cranes in a construction environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of crane operation, rigging, and signaling techniques.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to crane operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and load charts.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform the demanding tasks of the job, including climbing and working at heights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Experience with different types of cranes (e.g., crawler, rough terrain, all-terrain).
  • Previous experience on large-scale civil or commercial construction projects.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
