Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Renewable Energy / Solar Engineer to join our growing team in Omaha, Nebraska. As a Solar Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and optimization of our solar energy initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the technical design, engineering, and optimization of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, from conceptualization to commissioning.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy production analyses for new and existing solar projects.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and performance models using industry-standard software.
  • Evaluate new solar technologies, components, and best practices to ensure our projects remain at the forefront of innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, development, procurement, and construction, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support during the construction and operational phases of solar projects, troubleshooting and resolving engineering-related issues.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in solar PV system design, engineering, or project development
  • Proficiency with solar design software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC), safety standards, and grid interconnection requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
  • Experience with energy storage systems (e.g., battery storage) integration
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)
  • Experience working on utility-scale solar projects
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
