Job Description
We are seeking vigilant and dedicated Public Transit Security Officers to join our team in Las Vegas. This full-time role involves shift work, crucial for maintaining continuous security coverage across our transit network. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for patrolling transit stations, bus stops, and vehicles, responding to incidents, enforcing rules, and providing assistance to the public. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of transit properties, including stations, platforms, vehicles, and surrounding areas.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and alarm systems to detect and prevent security breaches.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and passenger assistance calls.
- Enforce transit policies and regulations, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for all users.
- De-escalate conflicts and resolve disputes professionally and calmly.
- Provide assistance and directions to passengers as needed.
- Prepare accurate and timely incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Conduct safety checks and identify potential hazards on transit property.
- Perform fare evasion deterrence and intervention duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Nevada Security Guard Card (PILB Card) or ability to obtain one.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful or emergency situations.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing and communication.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Knowledge of public transit operations and safety protocols.
- Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
- Bilingualism (Spanish preferred).
