Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Psychologist to join our student support services team. This pivotal role involves working directly with students, families, and school staff to assess learning and developmental needs, provide interventions, and support the overall well-being and academic success of our student population. The Educational Psychologist will play a crucial role in developing individualized educational plans, conducting psychological assessments, and offering consultation to educators on best practices for inclusive education and behavioral management. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to identify learning, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
- Interpret assessment results and provide clear, actionable feedback to students, parents, and school staff.
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to support student learning and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Provide consultation and training to school staff on topics such as classroom management, crisis intervention, and mental health awareness.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and plan appropriate support services.
- Advocate for students' needs and promote inclusive educational practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
Required Skills
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Educational Psychology or a closely related field.
- Valid state licensure or certification as an Educational Psychologist in Kansas.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting psycho-educational assessments and interpreting results.
- Strong knowledge of child development, learning theories, and evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, families, and school personnel.
- Proficiency in report writing and record keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a public school system.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English).
- Specialized training in specific areas such as autism spectrum disorders, trauma-informed practices, or positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS).
- Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., NASP, KASP).
